General in Timberland

Nathan Swartz, the company’s founder, purchased a 50% stake in the then-Abington Shoe Company in 1952. He worked his way up, made it a family business, and relocated it to Newmarket, New Hampshire.

The region is well-known for its mountains, rivers, dense forests, and proximity to major east coast cities. This region experiences a wide range of weather conditions, from harsh winters to scorching summers.

Timberland was created to be able to stop in any type of weather that the unpredictable New England climate could throw at you.

They released their first “yellow” waterproof boots, the “Timberland,” in 1973. These boots were a huge hit with outdoor enthusiasts, tradespeople, and anyone else looking for a stylish pair of boots.

They were so popular and innovative in the 1970s that the company was renamed Timberland.

Timberland’s company mission has been to make the brand and company a force for positive change since its inception and name change. They accomplish this by focusing on a better product, stronger communities, and a more environmentally friendly world.

Why Are Timberlands So Expensive?

Better Products that are Innovative

Timberland believes that when designing a pair of boots or any other product, they must consider not only how to design the product to look good, but also the impact it has on the environment.

Developing innovative products that encourage people to spend time outside is an essential part of the company culture. Because so much of their product’s use is designed for the outdoors, they believe it is critical to minimize their environmental impact through the products they manufacture.

Timberland has been innovating and making changes to their brand over the years to make their products more sustainable.

Timberland was introduced as a guaranteed waterproof boot in 1973, and it has since become the most important part of their company.

They have developed new products over the years and made it their mission to become more and more sustainable.

Timberland recycled 128 million plastic water bottles into their footwear by 2013. By 2018, that figure had risen to more than 345 million, and the same year, they introduced the ReBotlTM material made of recycled plastic.

Since then, they have grown in their understanding of the importance of sustainability while producing excellent products in terms of functionality and performance.

Community Service

Timberland believes in the ability of stronger communities to effect global change. Full-time Timberland employees can volunteer in their communities for up to 40 hours per year.

Their company’s goal is to work 1.5 million hours by 2020. This is critical to their mission because a stronger community equates to a stronger company. Timberland partnered with City Year, a national youth service organization that works to strengthen communities, in 1989.

Through programs like this, they have consistently demonstrated their commitment, and in 2019, Timberland signed the Generation T pledge, which supports students and graduates in skilled trades.

Dedicated to Sustainability

One of Timberland’s strengths is its commitment to sustainability. They are dedicated to making the world a greener place.

One of their primary goals is to plant trees. Trees and urban spaces have the potential to improve the planet’s quality and our well-being. They improve air quality, protect against erosion, alleviate stress, and much more. They are critical to our continued existence on this planet.

Because this is so important to their mission, they have planted over 10 million trees since 2001, with a goal of planting 50 million more by 2025.

As part of this mission, they are working on the Great Green Wall, an African-led movement to plant a line of trees across the African continent to combat problems.

In addition to their tree-planting mission, many Timberland boots are made entirely of recycled materials. Because the boots are designed to be worn outside, protecting the environment is an important responsibility of their company.

Timberlands are made of what

They make their boots and shoes out of plastic water bottles. 128 million used plastic bottles have been recycled into Timberland shoes and boots to date. Timberland uses recycled materials in everything from linings, laces, uppers, and insulation to faux shearling and even the backing of faux fur. This means that animals and non-recycled materials are being saved for use in other ways.

Unfortunately, timberlands have a negative impact on the environment. They slaughter animals in order to use their leather, fur, and wool in their shoes and boots. The production of these materials has the potential to cause climate change, pollution, and land degradation. Furthermore, in some cases, killing the same animal may result in the extinction of that species. As you can see, timberlands have the potential to devastate the environment and the creatures that inhabit it.

What is the price of Timberlands

Timberlands boots range in price from $75 to $190, depending on the quality and size. For a $140 pair of Timberlands boots, it costs $35 to make them and $70 to sell them to the retailer, so they only pay $105 and profit when someone buys the shoes. The company only pays 25% of the original cost of the boots and sells them to the company for 50%. They profit by 25 percent and take advantage of us.

Why Are Timberlands So Expensive?

Why are timberlands so pricey

Timberland boots are so expensive because of their popularity, quality craftsmanship, and the company’s sustainable initiatives. Because their brand is known for being premium, people are willing to pay a premium for their superior design and construction.

Now that we’ve answered that question, let’s take a closer look at each of these factors and how they affect the cost.

Popularity

Timberlands have been popular in a variety of communities since their inception in the 1970s. These boots are not only functional when spending time outside, but they are also regarded as a fashionable addition to any wardrobe.

As prominent members of various communities began to buy and wear these boots, so did their followers. As with any popular brand, the company was able to raise the price of these shoes as demand increased.

People would pay the extra money if they really wanted them. This phenomenon is common in many industries and is one of the reasons why name brands are more expensive than store brands.

Craftsmanship of High Quality

Timberlands are made of a variety of high-quality materials, in addition to their popularity. One of Timberland’s most iconic boot styles is made of nubuck leather, which is a cross between suede and full-grain leather.

To make a finished product, these materials are combined with sole leather, rubber, and nylon. It is the customer’s responsibility to research the materials used in a given style to ensure that they are appropriate for the intended use of the boot.

However, if you take good care of your boots from the start, cleaning them of mud and debris after each outing, you should be able to enjoy your Timberlands for many years.

Initiatives for Sustainability

Finally, Timberland has committed to a number of sustainability initiatives that will incur a small cost to their products.

If you shop in their Earthkeepers line, you can expect to find recycled plastics in rubber and fabrics, as well as a product called ‘better leather.’

The Leather Working Group audited this leather and gave it a rating of silver to gold for environmental responsibility.

While these are great initiatives to be a part of, using environmentally friendly materials is a little more expensive because there are more steps those materials must go through before they make it to the production pipeline.

4. How long do timberlands last?

Timberlands are known for their extreme durability and longevity. Many people claim that their Timberland boots last for at least 4-5 years.

You should expect your boots to last a long time given their high price. You can expect your boots to last a long time if you take good care of them.

What Activities Can You Do in the Timberlands?

Timberland boots are ideal for a variety of activities. They were originally designed and used to keep people warm and protect those who worked outside.

Timberlands are often associated with a classic lumberjack look, but they can now be worn for almost any activity.

They are also worn by many city dwellers around the world because they have a good grip and keep you warm and dry in snowy and icy conditions.

Finally

As a result, make no mistake about it: Timberland boots are expensive. However, they are not significantly more expensive than a good pair of sneakers or a different type of boot, and they last just as long, if not longer.

Timberlands are an excellent choice for a quality pair of boots. They are long-lasting, perform well, and are fashionable. These boots have earned their reputation.

Aside from the quality, durability, and popularity of Timberland boots, the company has a strong social conscience, with their main values being community, the environment, and their products. See more useful article at my website shoestorenyc.com.
